The War Memorial Hall is THE hall for Lamberhurst, serving villagers as a community space for recreation – everything from short mat bowls, fitness and dance classes, to the village pantomime and community cinema- and also as a venue for local and national celebrations such as harvest suppers and coronations! It plays an important role in our community.

However, as everyone will agree, it is urgently in need of a makeover in many areas. Sadly, in the current economic climate grants are diminishing and those that are available work on a match funding model where the community needs to raise a significant percentage itself.

So we asking you, the local community, to help in whatever way you can

CENTRE is our new project to give the hall back its sparkle with a makeover to make it ready for generations to come…

We have currently identified a number of needs:

Renovating the original wood panelling
Re-decorating
Replacing cumbersome internal doors and hatches
Replacing the stage front
Upgrading the kitchen
Repurposing redundant areas for storage

We are using ‘Peoples Fundraising’ as our online financial partner. They too are a registered charity, run by IT specialists who provide a minimum cost service to over 4,000 charities and community organisations. Help us maximise our revenue and avoid paying fees to an international bank!

SUPPORT fundraising events as they happen. These will be one off events or regular events like the village cinema.

INVOLVE your club or group in fundraising. Run your own event.

THINK OF US ... if you are looking to raise money for a charity e.g being sponsored for a 10k or a marathon 

USE THE HALL. Come to events that happen here – hire fees keep the hall running

COME TO THE COMMUNITY CINEMA Come and support the village’s own community cinema which gives all its surplus funds to the hall. You won’t be disappointed. Advertise your business on our screen for a small fee

START YOUR OWN GROUP OR ORGANISATION We have lost our village toddler group and the Gardeners’ Society recently. Is there appetite out there to restart these or form new associations?
